For those of you new to SSCPS, my name is Charlene Salamone and I am the Food Services Coordinator. My role at SSCPS is to ensure that our school offers our students nutritious and healthy meals during school days. Since SSCPS does not have cafeteria’s, we offer our students a “Grab and Go” hot or cold meal which complies with the nutritional guidelines set by the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program.
For your convenience, this year we will continue with our online meal ordering system called FamilyID. You are able to order your child’s meals online. All families must register each child in FamilyID. Please visit the SSCPS Familyid Programs webpage to register your child. To learn more on how to register your child click here to watch a quick video. If you need any assistance with FamilyID registration, please call (781)205-2800 or email [email protected]. All meal orders will be made directly through this online system. For the start of this school year, we are asking all families to provide their child with a reusable water bottle. Since we have eliminated the drinking fountains in the school, it is necessary for children to be able to fill up their water bottles instead of using the drinking fountain. We will offer two lunch choices per day for in school learning, as the school year continues we hope to add in a salad as a third lunch choice. Your child may order a breakfast and one lunch choice per day per child. Please review the menus carefully and order them accurately. Orders are due on Tuesdays, no later than 3:00 pm the previous week. Meals can be ordered weekly or monthly. Even though meals are free to all students you may want to fill out a Free/Reduced Application because it may qualify your family to receive benefits from other state funded programs i.e Pandemic EBT cards. Here is the application and instructions to apply for the Free/ Reduced National School Lunch and Breakfast Program meal benefits. If you need assistance on completing this form, please reach out to me. All applications must be printed, completed, and signed and sent directly to my attention. We are asking all our families to complete the following online survey regarding the need for meals while your child is remote learning. We are planning to distribute meals to remote learners two times per week on Mondays and Wednesdays from the school. Families of remote learners can pick up meals outside of the Business Office located at 700 Longwater Drive, Norwell. More details will be forthcoming. We are seeking additional feedback from families on whether or not you would like to have meals delivered to designated locations closer to your city and town. Completing this survey is important so we can plan the logistics of helping you access meals during remote learning.
