Thank you, Susan Dupras R.N. x182 Darcie Edwards R.N. x104 Barbara Folan R.N. x104 Hello SSCPS Families,
As many of you know, SSCPS is going to a 1:1 Chromebook program. It is the goal of SSCPS to loan one Chromebook per attending student. This includes all students K through 12. Chromebook devices have been back-ordered around the country. We have to prioritize handing out our limited existing stock of Chromebooks. Please go to our Chromebook Request registration page to fill out one form for each student who does not have a laptop or desktop at home. Families can request more than one device by filling out this form per student. We are using FamilyID.com to manage requests. SSCPS uses this for Athletic and Food Service programs. Once you create an account on FamilyID.com and register student(s), you can continue to select those students for future programs. For more information about FamilyID, you can go to http://hello.familyid.com/for-families and watch this video. After we receive requests, we will contact you with further information regarding picking up your student's Chromebook(s). Once we receive additional Chromebooks we will contact the rest of our families. Best, Ralph (a/k/a Rio) p.s. If you still have a Chromebook from the spring and/or summer school, please return it to the table outside our 100 Longwater Drive location. Many are no longer supported by vendors and need to be modified to continue to use. -- Ralph deGennaro Director Of Technology South Shore Charter Public School 781-982-4202 ext. 111 [email protected] http://www.sscps.org/ Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! For those of you new to SSCPS, my name is Charlene Salamone and I am the Food Services Coordinator. My role at SSCPS is to ensure that our school offers our students nutritious and healthy meals during school days. Since SSCPS does not have cafeteria’s, we offer our students a “Grab and Go” hot or cold meal which complies with the nutritional guidelines set by the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. We are offering a Q&A Zoom Meeting for families to ask questions about our Food Services Program on Thursday, September 3rd at 6:00pm. Here is the link to the Zoom Meeting. We are asking all our families to complete the following online survey regarding the need for meals while your child is remote learning. We are planning to distribute meals to remote learners two times per week on Mondays and Wednesdays from the school. Families of remote learners can pick up meals outside of the Business Office located at 700 Longwater Drive, Norwell. More details will be forthcoming. We are seeking additional feedback from families on whether or not you would like to have meals delivered to designated locations closer to your city and town. Completing this survey is important so we can plan the logistics of helping you access meals during remote learning. For your convenience, this year we are introducing a new online meal ordering system called FamilyID. You are now able to order and pay for your child’s meals online. When you order your meals through FamilyID, you will have the option to pay online using MySchoolBucks. All families (including those that qualify for free or reduced meals) must register each child in FamilyID so that you may order meals. Please visit the SSCPS Familyid Programs webpage to register your child. To learn more on how to register your child click here to watch a quick video. If you need any assistance with FamilyID registration, please call (781)205-2800 or email [email protected]. All meal orders will be made directly through this new system. Meal payments can be made directly online or by dropping off a payment in a sealed envelope to the attention of Charlene Salamone~Food Services. Options on how you can pay are available when completing your child’s registration. If your child is qualified for Free and Reduced meals, please select the free and reduced pricing option when you order. For the start of this school year, we are asking all families to provide their child with a reusable water bottle. Since we have eliminated the drinking fountains in the school, it is necessary for children to be able to fill up their water bottles instead of using the drinking fountain. We will offer two lunch choices per day for in school learning, as the school year continues we hope to add in a salad as a third lunch choice. Your child may order a breakfast and one lunch choice per day per child. Please review the menus carefully and order them accurately. Orders are due on Tuesdays, no later than 3:00 pm the previous week. We are eliminating paper order forms this year. The first week of school, we will have extra meals available in case you miss the deadline. Meals can be ordered weekly or monthly. Here is the application and instructions to apply for the Free or Reduced National School Lunch and Breakfast Program meal benefits. If you need assistance on completing this form, please reach out to me. All applications must be printed, completed, and signed and sent directly to my attention. The cost to purchase lunch is $3.50 and for eligible reduced students $0.40. Breakfast cost $2.00 and for eligible reduced students is $.30. Milk (1%, fat free or fat free chocolate milk) is always available during lunch time to be purchased for .30 cents if a lunch is brought from home. If your child forgets their lunch a cheese sandwich and milk will be provided at the cost of $3.40. You will receive a notice from the office for the cost of the sandwich that your child received. Finally, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at 781-982-4202 ext. 156 or email me at [email protected]. Sincerely, Charlene Salamone
